Is Messy just for kids?​
Definitely not! Messy Craft offers creative experiences for all ages. There are after school programs and summer camps for kids, but we also offer adult-only Workshops the first Thursday and the third Thursday of the month. During Open Studio hours, we also offer a variety of DIY Studio projects for everyone regardless of artistic experience.​​
Do you do parties?​​​​
We love Messy parties! All parties offer private use of the entire studio, and every project is custom-designed for each party and age range (no generic project list to choose from). We love unique themes and requests. Your party is candy themed? We'll decorate with candy gems! Spa party? We'll make custom sugar scrubs! You like reptiles? We'll make snake puppets! All of our pricing info and booking form are on the party page of our website.
How does the DIY Studio work?​​
Open Studio hours are typically Friday and Saturday from 11am to 7pm and Sunday from 12pm to 4pm. Come with friends (or solo), pick a project, and settle in for some fun! We will provide some directions, supplies, inspiration, and as much guidance as you'd like. If you want to do a specific project, feel free to text or email us to check availability before coming.
What projects do you offer during Open Studio?​​​​
Many of our projects are featured on our DIY Studio page, but we do change our offerings frequently. Some projects online may sell out and get replaced with other projects, but we always have a variety of options (wood, canvas, paper, paint, leather, needlepoint, ink dye, and more). All of our samples and directions are just guidelines and suggestions. If you have an idea, we can absolutely help you make it happen!
We also have customizable hats and patches as well as many projects with the Messy Bead Bar! If there's something specific you'd like to make but don't have the skills or supplies, feel free to email or text us to see if we can help!
Do I need a reservation?​​​
No, we love walk-ins! But we do recommend reservations for a couple of reasons:
- We can get pretty busy sometimes, and we don't want you to have to wait around for a seat! A reservation guarantees your number of seats will be available.
- We do tons of parties, so our hours may vary. The best places to make sure we're open are on the reservation calendar on our DIY Studio page or following us on Instagram @messycrafting in our Hours highlight.
How much does it cost?​​​
Open Studio is charged by project. Projects range from $13 for simpler Messy Bead Bar projects to $45 for more involved projects.
What is the age range for DIY projects?​​​​
Our projects are great for a variety of ages and skill levels. However, makers under age 5 will probably need a hand with most of our projects.
Is Open Studio drop-off?​​​​
No, only our after school Messy Maker and Summer Camp programs are drop-off. Open Studio is open to the general public.
